Create a section cut - Sketchup Pro Tutorial
From the course: SketchUp 2020 Essential Training
Create a section cut
- [Instructor] A section cut can help us peer inside of our model without changing any of the geometry. It's like taking a slice right out of the model. To do this, we'll need to use the section plane tool and that's found under Tools, Section Plane. Now a plane will be attached to my cursor and aligned with the face that I hover over. To take a slice out of my model, I'm going to click and release on a face and set the plane down. Now I'm prompted to name the plane, I'm going to call this one Living Room. And as my symbol I'm going to call it LR and then hit OK. Now I can see there is plan here with my symbol attached to the ends and this will help me know which plane is which when I have multiple planes in my model. I can adjust the placement of this by selecting it and then tapping the M for Move tool. Click and release on the plane and begin to move it forward and backward. I'm going to set mine down right here…
