- [Instructor] If you are not using shortcuts, you are doing yourself a disservice by slowing down your workflow. There are a lot of shortcut keys already plugged into each model, but did you know you can create your own or change the defaults? In this video, we will explore how to create your own shortcuts to speed up your modeling time. One of the nice thing about shortcuts, besides time-saving, is how easy they are to use compared to other software. In CAD to use the line tool shortcut, you need to press L and enter. In SketchUp, you need only press L and you are ready to draw a line. To assign or change shortcuts on a Windows computer, open the window menu, preferences, and find shortcuts. On a Mac, click the SketchUp menu, preferences and shortcuts. The first two shortcuts we will create will be hiding and unhiding.
