- [Instructor] People often forget a three-dimensional SketchUp model can easily become a two-dimensional view. This is helpful when printing plan views such as floor or furniture plans to whisk off to someone for review. What we will cover here can only happen in a paid version of SketchUp. In this exercise file of a house, we need to send this to someone at quarter-inch scale. First thing we should do is to get into top view, in your views toolbar click top, or you can find this in the camera menu, standard views, top, while we are still in the camera menu, choose parallel projection. This is imperative because it is the only way to print a scale in SketchUp. It takes us from a three-dimensional perspective to a two-dimensional orthographic view.
