The Select tool

- [Instructor] The select tool is arguably the most used tool in SketchUp. The icon to activate it is the arrow icon in the upper left hand corner, or you can use a keyboard shortcut, which is your Space bar. I highly recommend using your Space bar, since this tool is used so often. The select tool allows you to do just what the title says, select something. To select an entity in your model, simply click and release over the geometry. You can select faces and edges as well as groups and components. If you select something that you didn't intend to, you can either click into a space with no geometry, or click on a different intended entity. If you would like to select more than one entity at a time, you can use a few different methods.
