Three uses for the Tape Measure tool

- [Instructor] The tape measure tool is a magical instrument that does more than just measuring. Let's explore this handy-dandy tool. In this exercise file we have a small box me in 2D and two larger boxes. We know that the tape measure tool measures which we will practice on the blue box. Activate the tape measure tool by hitting shortcut T, or finding the tape measure icon. If we hover over the box, a screen tip tells us it is one foot square. We also see that in our value control box or VCB, down in the bottom right-hand corner, if we click one end point and hover over the opposite end point, a screen tip tells us it is one foot. And our VCB says the same thing. Hover over the opposite side, and we see the same measurement. The second thing the tape measure tool does is create guidelines or construction lights.
