- [Instructor] The first rule of precision modeling is typing in exact increments. I like to think of the measurements box or VCB as the side view mirrors, which we should always keep glancing at so we don't crash. If we don't keep an eye on it or use it, we are missing important information to make our models better. In this exercise file, we will create tile flooring for this bathroom. We will first start out by making a one foot square tile. Couple of notes about the VCB. You do not need to type inside the VCB, in fact, you cannot. You also do not need to type the inch marks if you are using a feet and inches template. If you want to change the units, you can just by typing their initials. For instance, typing mm after a number changes it two millimeters. If you are working with a feet and inches template like I mentioned, you do not need to type the inch marks or quotations.
