Computers forced us to think logically

- [Instructor] We just discussed how computers need rules written by programmers in order to appear to think. Making connections between data and inferences about data points can seem as if the machine is learning when really the data is only being accessed and manipulated in the computer memory. These rules that computers require required human programmers to think differently. Programmers were now faced with a new problem about how to get information into a computer in a binary format. In order to store data in computer memory, it had to be organized in a true false manner. This forced programmers to think differently about how they organized their data. Not only did this require programmers to think in terms of true or false, or binary, it also required programmers to make sure the instructions were all written out clearly and precisely.
