- [Instructor] Information security, as we know it, is struggling considerably to keep up with today's fast-paced DevOps world. DevSecOps is the way to approach that problem differently, and bring security to the DevOps party. To start, let's lay out a definition of DevSecOps. DevSecOps is the extension of DevOps culture for the inclusion of security. This has two major implications. First, DevOps has seen a decade of growth and success in many software organizations. So to really understand DevSecOps, it's important to understand DevOps. If you're a student of software development, and haven't watched the DevOps Foundations courses here available in the library, then I recommend you do that. In those courses, Ernest Mueller and I break down DevOps and its main areas of practice. The second implication is that security must leave behind the old ways of thinking and embrace a new culture.
