Introduction to the tools for AR

- [Instructor] Now that we've discussed much of the conceptual and design considerations, we need to talk tools. The main development tools in the AR space are the Unreal Engine and Unity. It's important to note that these aren't strictly AR tools. Even if you haven't worked on any AR apps before there's a pretty good chance that you've heard of these tools. They are used to build many of the biggest games on the market. What they have in common is that they are a cross platform, are for a physics based engine, and frameworks for crafting your app. This includes lighting, particle systems, and much, much more. While it's possible to create assets within these apps, say maybe a 3D model of a building, it's more common to create those assets in other applications, like Maya, 3D Max, or ZBrush, and import them for use within Unreal or Unity.
