- [James] Now that we've reached the end of the course, I'd like to remind you what the task is before us. Specifically, I'd like to speak to security's new role. It's a role of empathy and enablement, seeking to help others in the organization succeed in their job with as little undue burden from security as possible. Next, security needs to be fast and non-blocking. We are a culture of yes, not a culture of no. Next, we choose not to slow delivery of software down. We consciously make decisions that help us go faster and safer. Of course, we now look for opportunities to automate as much as possible. All of this comes together in what I see as our big test. It's that security provides value to the organization by making security normal or just on by default. Security just becomes part of the way we ship software, not some separate team that operates outside of the rest of the software engineering team. This is DevSecOps. It is fun, exciting, and to be honest, a little daunting…
