- [Instructor] Writing an IT resume can be a difficult and nerve-wracking task. It's hard work, and the pressure is on because it has to be done right. Your future will likely depend upon the effort you put into it. And you're probably wondering at this point, where do I start? Breaking the task down into a few steps will help. First, understand the purpose of the resume. A resume is your introduction to a potential employer, expressed in your own words. It should be specific to the job you're applying for, and clearly describe what makes you qualified. Now, think about what makes an introduction powerful, and memorable. A strong IT resume requires a careful listing of your technical know-how, education, and experiences related to the job you're applying for.
