- If you're passionate about music and the music industry, my recommendation is go to one of the big music cities. Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, and look for different opportunities. As far as which areas there are more opportunities, honestly other than cassette and CD duplication. Which I would maybe advise against, almost everything else if fair game. Just get there, meet people, and get to know the industry and I think that'll become more clear. Everybody looks at a hit song as sort of the brass ring and the way that you're going to make money from your song writing. That can happen but the odds are not really in your favor for that being the first way that you generate income from your songs. Think about pitching to film and TV opportunities. Think about music libraries. Be creative. Think about any way that your song might be of value to someone, and that's how you should be thinking about generating income with your music.
