- [Jason] Now, before we get started with using STATA, we need to acclimate you to it. The most important thing to know is right in front of you. This is where you're going to see the outputs. You can't input anything there. It's just the output console. Where you are going to be inputting commands is below here in the command prompt area. And as you input commands on the left, there will be a historical running record of the commands you've been using. Once, of course, we've inputted some data on the right, you'll have a record of the names and labels of the different variables as well as other information about them. Now, there are many different software packages that you can use to analyze data. I've been using STATA for over 20 years.
