- [Instructor] Generally, you'll only be asked to export to an edit suite for an animation project. Live action productions just ask for a movie export. In fact I've never had a live action movie ask me for an EDL. Most editors prefer to edit the final animation animatic in their software of choice, which is either going to be Adobe Premiere or Final Cut. If an editor doesn't want to edit in Storyboard Pro, you'll need to export an XML, EDL or AAF file for them to work in their editing program. I suggest that editors work in Premiere rather than Final Cut, if they have to work outside a Storyboard Pro, because you can't simply replace files in Final Cut. Say if the art in the storyboard gets updated, see, as long as your timings don't change, you can simply replace a file in Premiere with an updated version of that file and all the edits already created in the edit suite will be retained.
