- [Instructor] Sometimes, filling an area with a flat color just isn't good enough. Sometimes, I want a gradient in my art. So, let's take a look at how to create a gradient. First, you want to make sure that you're on your tool properties drop down and then we're going to look at opening up our color choice here. So if you notice this box here changes which whatever I click on doesn't matter which one we select I'm going to double click on this box and that opens up our color picker options box. Right now it's set to solid we're going to set gradient. I can either have a linear gradient where it goes one direction to another in a change of color or radial, which means it'll start in the center at one color and radiate out to another color on the outside edges of the circle.
