Add a reference variable to the display name

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll use the variable that Storyline created and adjusted for us by displaying the learner's name throughout the course. Now you'll remember, when we inserted the text entry field, Storyline actually took care of two steps for us. Storyline created the variable and adjusted the variable. So the adjusted value is whatever the learner enters in this field, so it's now up to us to use it. One way we can use it is by displaying it. The most simple way is just to display the value back to the learner. And we use variable references for that. So here's how that works, we're going to go up here to the insert tab, choose text box, and just click anywhere on the slide. We want to set that active text entry box. Don't click away from it or you'll deselect it, we want to keep it active. Come back up here to the insert tab again on the ribbon, and over here in text, we want to insert a reference. And a reference just means, show or display the value of a variable…
