Creating color with the gradient nodes

- [Instructor] The gradient map node can be used to perform a variety of tasks, such as masking, color remapping and even to add slope variation to height maps. In this video then, we're going to take a quick look at its controls and then see how we can use those same controls to remap the values in a grayscale map so as to add variation to the diffuse colors in our texture. After focusing on our number 12 pen, let's click the docked grunge map node that is attached to the already existing gradient node and then press the D key to undock it. We then want to select the gradient node and this time press the delete key so as to break all of the connections. We are doing this as it will make it easier to see just what the gradient controls are doing. Making sure no nodes are selected in the graph view then, we want to either press the space bar key and type the word gradient and then select the gradient map node from the list, or we could also simply click and drag one from the quick…
