Discussing the power of the Blur node

- One very powerful option, that we will often find ourselves using in Substance Designer, is the blur node. Now why would we ever want to blur the details found in a material, you may ask? Well, there are a number of instances where we may want to do this in the creation of a substance. Blending diffuse our color details together, making height maps that have smooth areas with overlaid sharper details, and so on. Indeed, another application, and the one that we will look at here, would be to help add depth to our normal maps. After making certain, then that we are at the zero two pin in our graph, let's get nice nice and close to the circular set of stones on the substance, in our 3D view. And then, after clicking to select the non-uniform blur that we have in the graph, let's remove it by means of the backspace key. Which, where possible, will cause Substance Designer to keep the nodes that are left behind, connected. Let's then click to select the splatter node in the view. Press…
