Enabling the iray renderer
- Although we have been looking at how to create a real time presentation up to this point in our course, sometimes we may need to create a series of high-resolution renders instead. Renders that can then be scrutinized by a client, and the decision made as to which version they want to use for the final look of the product. If this is the case, we can easily create the images from here inside Substance Designer using the iRay Render Engine. Enabling the renderer is quite straightforward. And so, coming to the 3d view, let's click to expand the renderer menu, and then from here, click the area option, which will switch our 3d view over to an iRay IPR one. With the render engine active, we can then make some adjustments to its settings so that we can get the best out of it. And so, clicking on the renderer menu again, let's choose the edit option in order to gain access to iRay's controls.
