- [Instructor] Importing the meshes that we are texturing into Substance Designer can make material creation for an asset a painless and straightforward process given that we are then able to get real time feedback of the material right here in our Substance Designer viewpod. This can be particularly useful when wanting to use Designer to place detail on very specific areas of the model. Before we go ahead and import our geometry assets however, there are a few brief points that would be good to consider given that they can help make our work process a whole lot easier. The most obvious place to start being our UV mapping set up which of course is the process of telling the 3D application where on a mesh it needs to place texture information or detail. If we press the space bar key and add a cloud 2 note a graph via a search and then hook it up to the diffuse output then we can see the diffuser base color channel display correctly because the default mesh types in Substance Designer…
