- [Instructor] Even if you had never seen a Substance Designer application before taking a look at this course you would possibly have still been able to work out looking at the current graph in our view, that substance textures are created by means of what Allegorithmic call Atomic nodes; these being small tools that all work together to produce something that often times mimics the complexity of a real world material. Because of the frequency with which we use these tools on nodes on a project Substance Designer has given us a couple of ways in which we can quickly access pretty much everything that we can see in the library section of the Substance Designer UI. The first of which is located at the top of the graph area itself, where we see a row of colored squares with symbols in them. These represent some of the most commonly used nodes in the creation of a substance. So to utilize them, all we need do is learn what the various icons refer to.
