What are packages and graphs?

- Given the packages and graphs are fundamental aspects of the way in which Substance Designer works, our being able to understand not only what they are, but how we can use them will be another big step forward in our endeavors to produce good looking materials. The first question that we'll want to answer then is what exactly is a substance package? Well, the package itself can be thought of as a container for the various substance graphs that you may want to create inside any given substance material set up. Once saved out, each time that a unique package is reopened in Substance Designer, any and all associated graphs, maps and mesh files will then be loaded along with it. The fact that substance packages can hold multiple graphs inside of them means that when imported into applications such as Unreal, Blender, Houdini, or 3ds Max, for example, these could then be used to create completely separate materials for each…
