What is a substance package?
- [Instructor] Now although these next two videos are going to be pretty short, but hopefully sweet, we wouldn't want to make the mistake of underestimating the importance of the information contained in each of them. There's getting to grips with just what packages and graphs are in Substance Designer and understanding how they work are both essential elements in the process of being able to master the Substance Designer application. The first question we will want to answer then is what exactly is a Substance package? Well the package itself can be thought of as a container for all of the Substance graphs that you may want to create inside a given Substance material setup. Meaning that each time a unique package is opened in Substance Designer, any and all associated graphs, maps, and mesh files will be loaded along with it.
