What you should know before watching this course

- [Joel] As we work through this texturing course together, whilst there is no real need for you to have prior knowledge of the Substance Designer application, I will to a certain extent be working with the assumption that you have at least a basic knowledge of the texturing process as a whole. If that is not the case, then you may want to check out some of the great titles that can already be found here in the online library, perhaps focusing initially on courses such as Judd Roy's Game Asset Texture Pipeline, as this will take you through the modeling, UV mapping, and material creation process for some basic game assets, with the added benefit that you will also come away with a good idea of what the general process for texturing 3D assets is all about. You will probably also want to investigate at least some of the dozens of Photoshop courses that can also be found in the library, as these can certainly help you get a good sense of general image manipulation techniques. Throughout the course, I will be working with the substance file entitled, floor_relief_final.sbs, and so whenever you see this file name displayed in the exercise files overlays, this indicates that I have at this point reopened the package, and so are working with it in its default state, as it were, whereas whenever you see the Continued from Previous overlay, we have simply kept the package open, and are continuing on from the previous movie.
