Creating the base material
- In this video, we're going to begin the process of creating a metal material. And here we're going to start by creating that base level of the material. So what I'm gonna do is come over here to my texture set list, and I'm gonna select this front one, and I will go ahead and solo this. So this is the area that we're going to focus on while we're creating this metal material. All right, so here we had a couple layers that we had in a previous video, our AO and our AO fix. So we can just start to build right on top of this. So the first thing that I'm going to do is come up here to my layer stack and I'm going to create a fill layer. Now I'm going to name this, and I just like to call it base, because like I said, this is gonna represent our base level of the material. So here with base selected we're gonna take a look at our properties, and I'm interested right now in the material, so if I click this material tab you can see that the view here just focuses to our material.
