Utilizing symmetry

- [Instructor] When painting our own textures, we may at times once to add more complex shapes and patterns to an object that would just be painful to create should we go about it one stroke at a time. And so a tool that can really help us avoid that tedium, is the symmetry tool. Coming to the layers tab, let's make sure that we have the details layer selected. And then I'm just going to set the brush so that it affects normal information only. And I'm going to use a screw type map, again just use whatever normal map you have available. It's not really important at this stage, we're just going to see how the symmetry tool works. But because of the strength of the particular normal map that I'm using, I'm just going to set the flow to 50%, this will just lessen its intensity.
