- So besides the tools and the coordinates tab, SynthEyes has an auto place button which will look for points and set up a coordinates system automatically. Let's take a look at the place tool. If we go over to the summary panel, and go about two-thirds of the way down we can see this place button. So let's just click this place button and see what it does. You can see it grabbed a bunch of points here on the wall. From the top view it looks like it might have an okay job. It looks like it's picked points against the wall, and put them right along the y and z-axes. But, if we look at the side view, we can see here that the camera is below the z-axis, and the z-axis is where we want the ground plane to be. That way it'll make sense to everyone. So, we need to change this. Now, one option is if you keep on clicking the place button it'll cycle through solutions. So let's hit the place button again. And again... and the last one there, let's see what that did. Okay that grabbed points on…
