Setting up a coordinate system - SynthEyes Tutorial

Setting up a coordinate system

- We're going to use the place button to quickly set up a coordinate system. So let's go over to the summary panel, and about two thirds of the way down is the place button. What the place button does is it goes through all of the points and will try to figure out the ground plane. So let's hit place and see what it does. You can see what it's done, it's picked a whole bunch of points and put them on the ground. If we look from the left view we can see here it's nice and flat on the ground. And from the front view. So to quickly check this, let's go up to layout and go to quad perspective. And if you're not seeing exactly what I'm seeing, just click on the lock button. That will lock the image to the camera. So we're looking through the camera and seeing the image. And now we can play through it and we can watch the grid and see how well it sticks to the ground. And that looks really good. Stop that. So if we're happy with our solve, we're ready to export out to our animation package.
