Content library overview

- [Instructor] The Software Library is a single-instance store of content in Configuration Manager. You're only going to find one of these per site. The site uses it to reduce the overall size of the combined body of content that you distribute to your clients. The Content Library stores all content files for software deployments, for example, software updates, applications, and operating system deployments, they all go into the Software Library. The site automatically creates and maintains a copy of the Content Library on each site's server and each distribution point. Now in our case, we have a standalone hierarchy, which means that the distribution point and the site server are one and the same. But you might have separate servers that do each of these different roles.
