- We're in application management in our software library, and we have a couple of different things we can push out to our clients as far as programs goes and one of them is applications and the other is a package. So by default we don't see any applications but let's click on create an application, just to see what we get, and we can see that the type is an MSI file. So an MSI has everything it needs, to install an application. It doesn't need any switches, it doesn't need any supporting files, they're all included in the MSI file. If we hit the drop down we can see a lot of other options as well, that also include everything that they need to install an application to a device. So that device could be a Windows computer, such as an MSI file would use, or it can use an app package for IOS, for Apple, etc. There's another option that we can do and that is packages.
