Upgrading SCCM from previous versions
[Instructor] We'll need to meet certain requirements if we'd like to upgrade from the 2016 branch of SCCM, to go to the 2019 branch. You can upgrade from SCCM 2016, the release candidate or evaluation version. However if you have older versions, you'll want to go to 2016 first, before going on to 2019 current branch. Before you upgrade a site you'll need to resolve all operational issues for the site server, site database server and site system roles that are installed on remote computers. A site upgrade can fail due to existing operational problems. You'll always want to install critical updates for each applicable site system. If an update you install requires a restart then you'll need to restart the applicable computers, before you start the service pack update. The following site system roles are no longer used in system center configuration manager, and they must be uninstalled before you upgrade from system…
