Big stories

- One way that stories are really useful is when we want to use multiple views and chain them together to create a narrative. Now the reason we might want to do that is because we might have performed an analysis on our data set and we've found something interesting. And we want to explain that or share that knowledge with somebody else. Now if they're not present in the room, we don't want them to have to try and search through the data set to find the exactly same conclusion we did. Instead we can use Tableau's story points to take a viewer, step by step through our data set. Story points work by taking a snapshot of each step of the dashboard, to provide the narrative. So this is our example data set. We've got our map and our scatter plot and a highlight table, showing our profitability. Now through our analysis, we've noticed that tables don't seem to sell particularity well in any of our regions. We've noticed that, although we don't make overall profit, there are some states…
