Changing the color sequence in charts

- [Instructor] Programs that let you create graphs and charts apply built in color schemes to those charts. In this movie, I will show you how to change the sequence of colors that Tableau applies to your chart elements. As my sample file, I will use the Sequence workbook, and you can find it in the chapter 11 folder of your exercise files collection. Now you are probably looking at this visualization and wondering what color sequence I'm talking about. Everything appears to be blue. That is correct. If I want to add colors to each of the vertical bars in this visualization, then I need to drag the field that will be used as the base for those colors to the Marks card and, specifically, onto the Color box. My horizontal axis is based on categories for Furnishings, Housekeeping, and so on, and those are from the Product Category field. So I'll go over to the Data area and drag Product Category to Color, and when I do, you can see that Tableau has changed the colors for the individual…
