- [Instructor] Anyone who has used Microsoft Excel to create conditional formulas is probably familiar with the IF function. The IF function returns one result is a condition is true, and another if the condition is false. Tableau has a similar function, IIF, which does the same thing plus a little extra. In this movie, I'll describe how to create a basic IIF calculation followed by the extra bit you don't get in Excel. My sample file is the TrueOrFalse workbook and you can find it in the Chapter 5 folder of your Exercise Files collection. This workbook contains a single sheet and on it I have the total value of the orders that have been placed and they're sorted by order ID. In the scenario I assume that because my hotel is a volume customer, that we receive 2% off of every order and 5% off of orders that are greater than $300 in value. What I want to do is to calculate the amount that I save based on those percentage reductions. So I need to check for two conditions, one is to…
