- [Instructor] Programmers have created a lot of CRAN packages that include outlier detection routines. I've chosen to use the mvoutlier packages routine sign2, S-I-G-N-2. Which gives you good flexibility if you want it. But it's also very easy to use in its simplest mode. As you can see, I have started. An R session with a brand new R console. The first thing I need to do is make sure that the mvoutlier package is installed. So at the command prompt, I will type Install.packages and then in parenthesis and double quotes mvoutlier. M-V-O-U-T-L-I-E-R. Looks like I spelled it correctly, so I'll close out the quotes and the parentheses and Enter. And I need to download the package, so I'll go down to USA Oregon which is the closest mirror site to me, click okay. And we'll download it.
