- [Instructor] When you analyze your data in Tableau, it's possible that your original data source might not contain all the values we want. For example, you might have the quantity of items ordered, and the price of individual items, but not the total. In this movie, I will show you how to create a calculated field, that allows you to get exactly the data you want. My sample file is the calculated field workbook, and you can find it in the chapter four folder of your Exercise Files collection. I have imported a worksheet, or an Excel workbook that contains three different data sources. Those are the Orderdetails table, Products, and PropertyInfo. If we look down at the Measures group, which contains values that I can use in the data area. Then I see two. The first is Quantity, and the second is Price. What I'd like to do is find the total value of orders for each of the products. That means that I need to multiply Quantity and Price together. To do that, I create a calculated field…
