Creating a crosstab

- [Instructor] Tableau lets you analyze large data collections efficiently. In this movie, I will show you how to create a summary or visualization that Tableau refers to as a text table or a crosstab. As my sample file, I will use the Creating workbook, and you can find that in the Chapter 8 folder of your exercise files collection. A crosstab is a data list that has one set of values for each column, and another set of values for each row. At least that's the simplest case. You can also have different levels of organization. But in this movie, I'll just focus on the simplest case where we have one field for the columns, one for the rows, and data in the middle. So let's say for example, that I want to find orders for various product categories based on my properties' cities. And let's say that I want to have categories along the top, and cities along the rows, along the side, and the quantity of orders in the middle.
