Creating a top filter
- [Instructor] One very common way to filter your data is to find either the top or bottom values in the list. For example, you might have a list of expenditures by hotels in different cities and want to see either the top or bottom of the list. In this movie, I will show you how to create that type of filter. My sample file is the top filter workbook which you can find in the chapter six folder of the exercise files collection. I have a list of values that represent purchases by hotels in different cities and again what I'd like to do is to find the top or bottom, say, three or four values within the list. To do that, I need to create a top filter. So, I will go to the data tab and I want to filter by city so I'll drag the property city pill to the filters area and that displays the filter dialog box. I want to create a top filter so I'll click the top tab and now I can define my filter. I want to filter by field so I'll select that option button and I'll go ahead and stay with top…
