Cross database joins

- [Instructor] One of the great new features in Tableau 10 is the ability to perform cross-database joins, or data integration. This allows us to create a unified data source where our data might come from two completely different files. In this example, we're looking at the Superstore Sales data, which you can find in your Exercise folder. In this sheet here, we're looking at the sales per state and region across three product categories. In this sheet are shown the overall sales for the year 2015. We can see that, for example, New York has very high sales figures for technology. This isn't taking into account the size of the population, so for that we want to bring in some census information and do some calculations so we can look at sales per capita. This information isn't present in our current data source, so we're gonna need to pull the information from somewhere else. Data integration is gonna allow us to join to a second file and produce a unified data source. Let's go on…
