- So, where on Earth am I meant to start with analyzing all this data? We've all been there before. The volume of data available from organizations nowadays is so broad that we can sometimes find ourselves analyzing data that isn't relevant to solving the problem at hand. As consultants, we must ensure that business intelligence helps us solve the client's problems, and this is known as data relevance. If you find yourself buried knee-deep in gigabytes-worth of data, it may actually be worthwhile pausing to ask yourself the following questions: Is this information even relevant to solving my client's problem? And also, will this data provide the insights needed to help my clients make more informed business decisions? For example, if a client has tasked you with reviewing the productivity of their employees, you probably don't need to be spending too much time looking at their financial data.
