Filter actions
- [Instructor] Filter actions are a way that we can filter content in our dashboard across different sheets by the user input. Now, they have the same kind of behavior as a normal filter in that we can exclude or exclude values but they don't affect the dashboard performance because we aren't pre-calculating any of the values until somebody else selects a mark. Filters can stack across different sheets. So if we select a mark in one sheet we can select a mark in another sheet and the combination of those two filters will affect the rest of the dashboard. There's two ways to create filter actions. Firstly is as a quick filter or we can create custom actions for a little bit more in-depth. And in that case we have to control but its the source and the target sheets and the kind of interaction we're going to use. Let's have a look in Tableau to see how we build a filter action.
