Grouping values
- Another common method of cleaning data with Prep is grouping. It's particularly useful if you have fields that have been either named incorrectly through user error, when they inputted the data. Or, if the input has changed over times, and they're asking for more information. Let's have a look at the Superstore cells data set. You can find that in your exercise folder, or you can open up the grouping data starter file in the exercise. So, we've collected up to our orders. We've formed some of our cleaning steps, which you can see in the changes panel on the left. Now we're ready to do some additional cleaning using the grouping. Let's have a look and see what we can find. So the first thing we notice is the ship mode. Now, it looks like somebody's entered both 1st and First Class, and Standard Class and STD, to mean standard. Now, that doesn't make any sense. We want to group those together.
