- [Instructor] We have a map, a heat map, and a scatter plot looking at the profit of our sales. To add a highlight action, we go to Dashboard and Actions and select the highlight. We'll have to tell Tableau which is the source sheet of the action, the target sheet, and what kind of action we're gonna use. Good practice is to use the select action. Although hover works well on a desktop, it doesn't work well on a tablet. For our example, we're gonna leave all the options as standard. Now we have a highlight action. If I then select the eastern region, the heat map highlights just the eastern column, and our scatter plot shows us customers from the east, but the map doesn't appear to work correctly. The reason for this is that the region value isn't part of the detail of the map. In order for the highlight to work, Region has to be present in every sheet which we want the highlight to function. To add that, we go to the map, take Region, and drop that onto the Detail. Now if we go…
