How to use layout containers

of the most useful things for designing a dashboard, but also one of the most confusing to take your head around. Now a container, is a container for dashboard elements. So that means they could contain sheets, or filters, or legends, basically any part of a dashboard can be put inside a container. Now, layout containers are automatically created in tiled layouts to construct a user defined layout. If you want a specific looking dashboard, containers are way to make sure that your final dashboard looks like your intended vision. Let's have a look and see what a layout container actually is in Tableau and how to construct them. Now in this example dashboard that we built earlier, we can see that we have four sheets. Now in building this, we just drag and drop the sheets into a dashboard. We didn't tell Tableau to build layout containers, however, it has done it for us.
