- [Instructor] One of the most straightforward ways to analyze data is to determine whether one value is larger or smaller than another. This comparison can be useful when you have two estimates for cost and want to be sure you used a larger one or a smaller one to plan your budget for the next year. In this movie, I will show you the functions used to find the larger or smaller of two values. My sample file is the LargerOrSmaller workbook, and you can find that in the Chapter03 folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook, I have a single sheet and it indicates the target spending, that is the budget, and the actual spend for the previous year, with four or five categories... Furnishings, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Office Supplies and Public Areas. What I'd like to do is to use either the larger or smaller of these numbers for planning for the next year.
