Identifying data clusters - Tableau Tutorial
From the course: Tableau 10 Essential Training
Identifying data clusters
- [Instructor] When you visualize your data in Tableau, you will often find that some of the values form obvious groups. In machine learning and data analysis, these groups are referred to as clusters. And one of the great new features in Tableau 10 is the ability to identify those clusters within your data. I will show you how to identify them and work with them. My sample file is the cluster workbook, and you can find it in the Chapter 10 folder of your exercise files collection. I have a text table that displays the guest count for the states in which I have properties, and what I'd like to do is to identify, using color, which of these values tend to go together. To do that I will click the Analytics tab, and then under Model, I will double-click Cluster. Doing so displays the Clusters dialogue box, and if I drag it to the side you can see that Tableau has identified all of the values as actually being part of the same cluster. I don't think that's the case. I see what, to me…
