Install R on a computer
- [Narrator] R, which is the analytical language we will integrate with Tableau in this course, is open source software that you can use for free. All you need to do is download it on to your computer and install it. In this movie I will show you how. To get R I have visited the R project website. And that address is cran.r-project.org. At the top you can see the download and install R section. It's available for Linux, in fact it's built into a lot of Linux builds. Also, you can get it for Mac or for Windows. I'm running a Windows machine, so I will go down to the Download R for Windows link to click it, and here on the next screen I see that I can download any number of different elements. In this case, I do want to get the base, which as, we can see, is Binaries for base distribution. Basically a .exe file. So I will click Base. And from here I can download the most recent version of R for Windows. And that is…
