- Sampling in Prep is a great way to speed up the process of building a flow. Now there's a couple of different options we can do when we're talking a sample of the data and these can have some implications when it comes to analyzing the data. Let's have a look at this in action in the sampling options demo file which you can find in your dataset. Now I've got two connections to the same traffic data that we saw previously, that's about a million rows overall in this dataset. So I'm going to look at some of the different sampling options to show you what happens with each one. So first of all, we'll look at the default sampling settings. So for this blue input, I'm going to add a cleaning step. Now, I'm using the default sample amount and I'm using the quick select sampling method, so this is going to be the fastest way of creating a sample. I'll add my clean step so we can actually look at the data, and we can see that Tableau's down the sample, it's highlighted the word sample, and…
