Sampling your data

- [Instructor] Prep is designed to handle large amounts of data to enable you to prep, clean, prior to analysis. But what does it do when you have particularly large datasets? How does it keep the experience enjoyable? One of the ways it does this is using data sampling. To understand that, let's look at the demo Traffic Sampling file, which you can find in the Demo folder. Now we've already connected to some data, and this has about a million rows of information. For the purposes of this, I've told Prep to include all of the data, rather than use sampling which it would do by default for a large dataset. Now usually the first step in our analysis is to add a clean step, because that allows us to see all of the rows and all of the data, so we can perform our cleaning. Now watch what happens when we add our clean step to this particularly large dataset. What Prep is have to do, is analyze each row of data and build our profile for us.
