Sorting based on a field’s values

- [Instructor] Anyone who has ever analyzed business data knows that order matters. If you have time data, such as that which is divided by month, then it makes sense to put the months in chronological order. January, February, March and so on instead of alphabetical order. In this movie I will show you how to sort your data based on value. My sample file is the Sort on Value workbook and you can find it in the chapter six folder of your exercise files collection. In this workbook I have a single sheet and there I have a highlight table showing the total value of purchases made by hotels in different cities. At present I have the values sorted in alphabetical order by property city, see you can see here that I have Arlington, Atlanta, and so on, all the way down to Seattle. If I want to sort the table based on the values then I can do that in a number of different ways.
